You can download an e-book in any format and convert it to kindle format using a free software program called Calibre.
Why would you need to download library books? Surely if there's a specific book you were wanting the chances are it's available as a download anyway?
I have a Kobo and you can download free software called Calibre which allow you to convert Kindle files ................ not sure if you can convert direct from Amazon though ........ my books were converted from CD Rom files ............. I have a Kobo touch, and I love it!! SO many free books via Kobo website, cheap discs containing 100s of books on Ebay and WH Smiths website has loads of free or 99p books so I have hardly spent anything ...... oh and don't buy the brand named case .......... £20-£30 in shops, and £5 on ebay and excellent quality - well mine was anyway. Happy reading!

Sorry Daffy ....think we were typing about Calibre at the same moment!
I love my Kindle! I read loads and rarely spend more than 59-99p per book.
I have a three novel a week habit.... is there a branch of biblioholics anonymous in the midlands... My name is Rowan and I am a compulsive reader....

oi you lot aren't helping me here :-)
Read Les Miserables or War and Peace or others of that ilk, around 1500 pages............That'll slow you down a bit...or in the case of Les Miserable maybe cure your habit for ever..Heh heh!
I am probably getting a kobo as it has more options re downloading... if that helps.
Sorry mccfluff, but I thought I had helped you!!!!!??
You helped me too...thank you echo kilo didn't know about Calibre
Sorry fluffy - please forgive me!
...I read a lot myself but feel the need to actually hold the book...can't be doin' with Kindle and suchlike.

50p or three for a quid at markets and charity shops round here...three for a fiver at lots of bookshops and brand new there if you're picky about handling second hand.

Cheap as chips and you can then give 'em back to the charity shops as a bonus..:-)
completely off topic - commoner - love your Bedlington - I have one too!
Whats a bedlington?
Snowball - its a breed of dog (commoner has one as his profile pic)!
