This is further to a previously asked question about opinions on Bosch electric appliances. Having had good reports about this make, I have also seen and heard very good reviews about John Lewis own brand appliances. I know that John Lewis gives good after sales care, and the appliances have a 3 year guarantee as standard, with a very cheap upgrade to 5 years. Does anyone out there have experience of John Lewis appliances (particularly washing machines, dishwashers and fridge freezers) and if anything did go wrong what was their experience of getting things fixed.

I don`t know about all of their products, but Electrolux make John Lewis washing machines (or at least they did a couple of years ago). Electrolux have the AEG and Zanussi brands among others so they would be comparable with those. I wouldn`t say they would be anywhere near Bosch in terms of quality though.
If you're after a really good washing machine then Miele is the best. I bought mine from John Lewis and it came with a 20 year guarantee with it. It is definitely the best washing machine I've ever had. It was a tad more expensive than some other makes though.

yes the guy in john lewis showed us the miele and said it was just about the best you could get but, significantly more expensive.
Maybe a bit late to comment on this one but I have had enormous trouble with BOSCH. They simply ignore emails, use an auto answering machine for the phone which leaves you waiting for several minutes without a reply and above all, have the most unreasonable way of meeting the need to replace a component.

The seal on my fridge/freezer door began to deteriorate. It shows all the signs of being a press fit item but NO, I need to buy a complete replacement door for £130. Are they mad?

I know which manufacturer's products I won't be buying in future
Oh, I forgot to mention but my experiences with John Lewis have all been excellent. Sadly I did not buy the fridge freezer from them for I'm sure they would have sorted Bosch out.
