i did put this in right category but 1 response, who said perhaps if i put in chatterbank, someone might know, help, point me in a different direction

My Cannon gas cooker has gone on the blink, and no idea whats wrong, it was fine this morning.
The gas supply is coming through no problem, but the digital panel is not
lit, which usually shows the time, but that's out. I Have changed the 3a fuse, plugged it in but it went bang, tried another fuse did the same thing. Have phoned Indesit company but they have quoted £ 134.00 flat charge, and a probable five day wait, which is impossible. Any advice before i call someone from Yellow Pages. Please

sorry em10 I am not very technical but I do hope someone can offer you some advice, seems like a lotta money for a call out. If the fuse keeps blowing could it the fault be electrical and have you checked your fuse box ? wish I could help more.

thanks for help, usually when a fuse blows in a plug, in the large fuse box the switch for whichever room, goes down. Once you replace fuse, it goes but up automatically, not moved.
sounds like the circuit board inside
call a gas engineer

I have,
Would it be Ariston by any chance EM?
I have just noticed, Cannon, Our Printed circuit board went & I replaced with new.
Question Author
No a Cannon, a goodun too, not sure whats happened it was fine this morning. Came back to find no output, gas is still ok, just won't ignite
Have you cleaned the top this morning EM? have you disturbed the caps? check your handbook, does this model have battery?
A point, check your maun fues box, has a fuse tripped?
Question Author
No fuse has tripped out, i did check that.
I am not tampering with this, im good at DIY, decorating, change plugs, fuses, but not about to mess about with the back of it, just in case.
Question Author
The first post of this question, someone said why don't i light it manually, i don't know why, but i didn't think it would, it does, so can cook, but can't plug into the mains.
