I want to plant some crocus. What time of year is best, and where can I find the bulbs. We were thinking of about 1000.

If you mean the crocus that you will have recently seen flowering then the time to plant is Sept/Oct.  There will be lots in the shops from late August onwards.

The autumn flowering crocus should be planted in July but these don't seem very popular & I have to say that I'm not a fan of them.

A thousand spring crocus will certainly make a lovely splash of colour!
