For an effective fibreglass repair is it necessary to-
1 Remove all old paint (will paint stripper affect adhesion)
2 Roughen the surface.
If you've been there, done that, I'll value your advice.

Remove the adjacent paint by sanding. You wouldn't want the paint to deteriorate later underneath the new repair. Sanding will roughen the area sufficiently.

Thanks, heathfield. Just as I thought.
When you have sanded, paint the area with the "magic" Owatrol Oil & also add some to the finish paint...You will be amazed.
