Can anyone advise me on how I can afford to buy a property? My fiance and I are moving abroad next year, but have looked into buying a property here to keep since we have family here. However, we are first time buyers and cannot get a mortgage high enough to even afford the smallest studio flat. We can stretch to our financial limits to buy something, but it would mean giving up our plans to emigrate as we couldn't afford to and we couldn't quit our jobs with a mortgage to pay. We have looked at so many ways around this, but cannot find a solution. Can anyone pleeeease advise?!??!?!?!

Go abroad, make your fortune and purchase a property in the UK when the housing market crashes. Or buy to let to cover your mortgage.
Join the club. My wife and I earn a relative fortune compared to most people and we were forced to move away from the area we both loved as we couldnt afford anything bigger than a flat and that was at a push. but sadly its supply and demand and there are not enough houses to go round.
You need a fairly big deposit for buy to let, but might be worth a look.
