Ice in Fridge

I've got thick ice at the back of my fridge and keep having to to turn it off every other week to get rid of it. Ive been told it could be something to do with the door seal. Could this be correct or could it something else?

Yes it is the door seal, if you inadvertenty leave your fridge door open the same thing will happen.

I rather thought the discussion on a failed automatic defrost system was to the point. A door seal malfunction will cause frost, but my experience is for the frost to build at the area immediately adjacent to where the seal is leaking. I've replaced a number of auto defrost lamps...

I had the icing up problem a couple of months ago (on a brand new fridge) - it was the thermostat.
