Can I make my hair grow longer? Is there a way to tell when your hair has stopped growing?

there is nothing that can make your hair grow, its your body that determines that! But if you keep your hair in top condition, dont use heated appliances to often, have a small, small (i am talking 1/4 inch here) trim every 8 weeks, and take selinium tablets daily, available from health food shops, for great gloss and health, and these tips should ensure your hair will be healthy and continue to grow.

By the way, genetic help here, my mums hair grows very quickly, and my hair does too, i had it cut up to my shoulders a year ago, its down to my waist again now (that has its own problems too, takes forever to straighten and is impossible to curl, but i love it!!)

Try sea kelp tablets, they definitely made my hair grow quicker and it seemed like it ended up longer, but that may have been because I didnt get fed up with it so quickly!

Your hair never stops growing, unless it falls out completely, or you die - though even after death your hair can continue to grow for a while.

If you want hair to grow longer faster, I heard that you're supposed to wash it everyday. Certain medicinal shampoo may help with the lengthening as well. In regards to your question of telling when hair stops growing, are we talking about baldness here?

My hairdresser sister told me to avoid washing my hair everyday because it washes out the natural greases that help maintain your hair.

I used to have hair down to my bum (when I was a Goth!!) ;) I used to wash my hair every second day and used a multivitamin type shampoo. I also used a hair dryer and tied my hair back often - the latter two not always good for your hair!

It is important to trim the hair frequently as well to get rid of the split ends.

Is your hair naturally straight?

I thought mine was long at just over half way down my back... :O

In response to a previous answer:

When you die your hair doesn't continue to grow. Your skin loses moisture and retracts from the hair and nails which is why for many years people believed that they were getting longer when actually it was the skin pulling back.

Sounds daft I know but, it is true.
