Looks like a nice awayday (week?) for some second rate Royals and the usual suspects from BBC Sport - I applaud the dedication of the athletes, but don't quite see the point of the whole shebang.

The Commonwealth countries ,of which the Queen is the Head consists of former territories spanning all 6 Continents and making up nearly 1/3 of the world. After we have left the EU we will be more dependent than ever on the Commonwealth countries for trade. The games give many of the smaller countries and territories a platform to show the world just what their athletes can do. Doesn't matter whether they have a hundred athletes competing or just one. They are proud to be members of the Commonwealth and so should we.!

I love the Commonwealth Games, went to the Manchester one , and will be rooting for all our athletes.
