it wouldn't even switch off with the engine running.
it done this for about 1/2 hour then reset as normal and went off once late at night and has been ok since.
does anyone know what this maybe or where the main sensor's are that go faulty...

its a 2004 a3.

thanx.

I would think water/ice in module.
Is this an add-on alarm? What is it?

this is the standard fit cat 1 system that audi put in at their factory.
it was ok last night (didn't start sounding).
i never thought of ice in the module, i was thinking maybe a faulty sensor.
I should get it all dried out first, then see what happens.
Volumetric sensors are always dodgy at temperature extremes (hot and cold .. and damp)

AlBags...
I have had some joy off the audivw forum, a number of people have had this problem and the problem is the ultrasonic sensor inside the car, due to the temperatures dropping to around -10 its to low for the sensor to deal with. someone also said they had a different module fitted to cope with the changes in temperatures. since the temps have gone back upto around -3ish there have been no problems.
