I'm not a big fan either petal, but my hubby loves them.

I've only ever done them on toast - this recipe has cheese and potato in it.

Hey Chris, I've put some sliced cheese on the top, and then sprinkled some grated cheese on top of the sliced cheese. Morrisons had some grated Seriously Strong cheddar on offer yesterday - two packets for the price of one.

Was a bit fiddly getting the mustard on.

It's pilchards, sliced potatoes and cheese, seasoned with pepper and mustard, and baked in the oven.

They're good for ya though - rich Omega 3 which is good for keeping the old ticker healthy .... I know what you mean though, I'm not overly keen meself, but my hubby, he loves 'em!

Well, you've already read about my various concoctions based upon minced beef and Tesco's value pasta sauce. (I had the curry variation, with a buttered jacket potato, for lunch today). Most other things I tend to throw together on the spur of the moment, rather than thinking of them as 'recipes'. So I can't think of anything else right now but I'll try a bit of experimentation in the near future and let you know what I think works :-)

(I've been meaning to try a spicey corned beef hash but I keep getting tempted by the ready-made stuff, rather than doing my own. Perhaps I'll get round to it now! Also, I used to make some great casseroles, based around either canned soups or dry cider for the sauce. I'll see if I can perfect one or two of them for you).

Can you buy ready-made corned beef hash? I've never seen it.

I sometimes buy ready-made Findus lasagne, and that's good - I love lasagne but it's time-consuming and fiddly to cook. The Findus one's quite tasty, IMO.
