My very first question I asked on this site has disappeared. It was about changing a username. I am curious as to why its disappeared ? Have I broken a site rule? I am sure I was not disrespectful to anyone. Best to know now before it happens again. Thanks.

things that get asked, and then answered, in the Ed's own section often get removed. He keeps a very tidy house. For a gnome.

In keeping with the spirit of this site, I have a hunch that you will never find out and that no reason will ever be forthcoming.
I think the questions in general archive are time bound...I think a month...I may be wrong..I think it is still in your profile questions though ?

For a gnome.
Oh yes, it has! I often wonder why threads just disappear. Like you, I think it would be helpful to know, because if I've said something i shouldn't have, i might avoid doing it in future
I too doubt you will find out, I saw it and it seemed a fair question - also your response to the answers seemed fine. I wouldn't worry too much.
Yes..still in your questions asked but not available under heading.....otherwise there would be zillions to go through....
Lol at Chill.
Don't worry about it. Some questions are removed and everyone knows why, and others disappear and nobody is quite sure what the reasoning is.

Ed moves in mysterious ways...
No it's not..ignore me !..l

Thanks guys, I was worried I'd offended someone.
Have you paid bribe money to the AB Protection Gang? If not you are doomed.

Mcmouse I have no spare cash for bribes but will cake do?
Cake ? Did someone say cake ?...over here....eclair please...
It says in the Site Rules that Ed doesn't have to discuss removals with anyone - and he doesn't like questions about removed threads, either.
Cake might get you a reprieve.
I think Chill should have had best answer (lol).
chill said what I said, only more concisely :-)
Thanks for the endorsement viv!
The Ed. moves in mysterious ways , his [insert word] to perform.
My guess is that Ed moved it since your post was a simple query aimed at him and you said you had also emailed him about it. Maybe he has replied or plans to reply by email to cover the query.
I recall your basic query was why you couldn't use the name Morrigan and the reason given was that someone already had that name. You made a valid point though about why the system should tell users that a name already is in use. (Experienced users would know how to check that but new users won't of course be familiar with things like that)
