The answer would be a definite 'NO', had the remarks been deemed racist, the members of the crowd who issued these remarks would have not only been removed from the proceedings but would have also faced a charge of racism.

I disagree with ejecting this man from the venue BUT what has the colour of his skin got to do with anything?
So the basic premise of this question is, if he had been somebody totally different and the shouts had been something totally different then the outcome would have been totally different.

Right'o!
regardless of the pathetic attempt to make a race question out of this it is pretty bad if the victim of bullying behaviour is the one punished!
///what has the colour of his skin got to do with anything? ///

AOG's obsession.
BTW, I also think it's unfair that he was the one asked to leave (I'm sure he wasn't "ejected" as the paper is claiming) but the security had limited options, they couldn't really ask the other 4500 people to leave, Maybe taking the guy to a private box or similar would have been a better way to deal with it.

Think I know where oldgit is coming from and people of a certain colour or race get away with a lot these days and trust me I'm not racist.
I think it's a disgrace the crowd hecklers got away with this, so much for "sport" fans make a joke of it these days !!
Hard to believe I suppose but it goes to show that darts "fans" are an even lower form of life than "football" "fans"!

The typical answers one has been accused of receiving, when making a valid point, which through it's very subject has to make certain comparisons.

It is not a matter of making a criticism of a person's skin colour, just that what I am trying to get over, is the fact that anyone's feelings can be hurt, not just certain minorities.

So why in these type of case, are some treated so differently to others?
Well at least you have a fair shout for 'best answer' pizza

Yes chuck, but I don't think that the whole of the 4500 people would have chanted Jesus, do you?

Why would they?

OK - Had it been a guy in a turban and all the drunks had been yelling Mohammed! Mohammed! I think he'd still have been removed

And it would still have been bad!

Clearly the security team chickened out and were more concerned about quietening it down whatever the cost - I think you're making a race issue where one really doesn't exist

Ahhh, trigger, there are times I wish we could award a best answer on someone else's thread.

/// Well, no, it is unlikely that the crowd would have chanted jesus to a black man. ///

Who said anything about a 'black' man, I was thinking more on the lines of a Muslim fellow.
I agree with JTP, the organisers took the easy option of removing one man as opposed to removing many more. They escorted this man out for his own safety, in part though.

How can any of us say that they would have reacted differently with a different person being harassed?
AOG

So to clarify, you're saying that this bloke was treated unfairly.

Damn right he was. The hecklers should have been ejected, rather than him. If it were a crowd of racists they would've been (rightly) ejected or perhaps arrested.

However, I think it trivialises the issue of racism to compare it to gingerism or even jesusism.

Very few Jesus lookalikes are refused jobs based on their likeness to our Lord.

Very few ginger people were ever lynched in Tennessee.

There weren't that many landlords who put up NO PETS, NO DOG, NO JESUS LOOKALIKES

Perhaps this gentleman should've taken the route that Lorraine Pascale took a few weeks ago, and laughed it off?
