What is the easiest way to clean a chimney flue?

Not sure if this is the right area for this question, but will ask it anyway. I understand that there is a substance that you can put on a fire or woodburner which when activited will clean the chimney for you. I am not sure of either the name or the cost of this substance, but sure one of you will know.

Can you tell me the name of this miracle cure, and does this mean I never have to clean the chimney or flue by brush ever again?

Personally, I think there is no better way than clean out manually.
Some of these chemicals work .. but with mixed results.

I remember this, forgotten the name of it though!.......long time since I used one, it was ok in between having the chimney swept properly, but was not a substitute!.....but maybe the more recent ones are better!.......
