Can anyone inform me where I can find a traditional fireplace supplier? I am looking for the sort of fireplace for an open fire which will burn coal, wood, kitchen waste etc. It will have a surround, a hearth and a mantelpiece made from tiles, slate, stone or other natural materials and it will look attractive, at least to me. I don't care for trends and yes, I loathe the fact that you can only purchase bathroom suites in white or white or off-white or magnolia or white! I like lemon or blue or green or pink bathroom furniture.
My fireplace will not be a hole in the wall half-way up my lounge, or a yuppy wood burner stove or- yes you've got the message, so will someone who understands me even if you despise my tastes please help. If there is no such supplier out there, here is your chance to fill a niche in the market because I'm sure I'm not alone. All constructive sugestions sincerely welcome.

Look up "Burglars" in Yellow Pages and "Let your fingers do the stealing"
What about a reclamation yard? theres several around here.. that sell that sort of thing!
There is a fireplace shop in Truro along with all the stoves etc but they sell them, any "architect's" yard and there is a wonderful shop near Le Manoir aux Quatre Saisons, just outside Thame and just off the M40 that sells all sorts of firplaces - can be expensive mind you if you are after genuine georgian etc.
Try a reclamation yard. If you have a chimney and a space for a hearth then perhaps all you need is a basket, there are many styles available. You can even get them from B&Q.

I m sure there are other salvage and restoration yards around....
If you can't find anything.......... what you're asking for is very easy to make up. It sounds like it's just an ordinary opening with a standard fireback plus tiled or timber surround & mantle with a stone/slate hearth.
