We have an old house with an outside tap for the garden.
Unfortunately, we cannot seem to get a tap connector to fit on to it.
The tap has a thread, but any of the connectors we have tried do not seem to engage with the thread , so don't attach.
We used to have one that worked , but it broke off.(Probably due to old age).
The tap looks perfectly normal , if old, and should fit a half inch connector.
Sorry, doc, our posts crossed.
We have tried a B&Q variation on that connector, but it won't screw on, appears to 'catch' but then just keeps on going round but not up.
You speak the truth, Chuckfickens...and that's just the part of the wall at the back steps...there's a whole lot more that needs doing too.
Maybe we'll win the lottery....
We have no idea where the stop-cock for that tap would be. I know where the stop -cock inside the house is. Would it be the same one? Or is there only one way to find out ?
It must be a miniature tap. :-))
Seriously, the half inch connector just fits and feels as though it should screw on then doesn't. The three quarter inch connector is way too big.
I don't think you can say that bit about slipping on the fitting...not with boiling water, anyway.
