you can buy a tile file from most tiling stockists.
switch the power off to the sockets in question and carefully
file away excess tile till the socket facia's fit in place.

thanks, will try that, cannot believe the soddy workmanship, their finishing touches, or lack of them has spoilt what wcould have been a really good job. won't be having them back, or recommending them.
thanks again

You could always fit longer screws between the front and the box in the wall , works in my garage.
solera is correct. If longer machine screws are used then the front of the socket will fit flush onto the tiles and make a very tidy job. If you remove the what you 'call lack of space 'then the front will be recessed and very difficult to get it to fit perfectly all round. I always do thr tiling for customers this way.
Hi mem Longer screws would not make the aperture any bigger I think the point has been missed in some answers if you file out as J>JJ suggest only the bits that prevent the socket from going in then very carefully drill a slightly larger hole with masonry bit + no hammer for the longer screw to go through that should cure it HTH Tez
I think you alt to get the bloke back that made the mistake in the first place, it should not have been difficult to match the size of the box burried in the wall. If you do undertake this yourself be careful not to damage the box fixing lugs or the whole box will need to come out!
