What is the best way to support a 6ft high pyracantha hedge that has a tendency to flop over?

Hi juliet,
Yes they do have this tendency to flop over and the only thing I can think of to combat this is to hard prune it say....every 3 years.
Cut it back after flowering, perhaps down to 4ft, this should encourage fresh new growth lower down and produce a thicker hedge and less to catch the wind.
You will have less berries in the following autumn but the sacrifice will hopefully be worth it in the long-run.
