I'm new to gardening. Can anyone please recommend a book (or website) for a 'painting-by-numbers' guide to planning a border, i.e. one that will detail exactly which plants I need to put together and in what formation. Thanks in advance.

Hi Yodel,
Have you seen the expert serries by Dr D.G. Hessayon.
ie 'The new flower expert', 'The easy-care gardening expert' etc, etc. for around 7.00 you can't go far wrong. Good Luck. Tbird+
PS. you should be able to browse at a coppy at any good garden centre where you should find a stand.
