Hi
I know that the first grass cut of the season should be on a high cutting but why? How long should it be until next cut is made?
Thanks to anyone who replies

Hi imd, The way I see it is, if you cut too much off at once it's too much of a shock to the system and can weaken it and it may turn yellow or worse brown.

Lower the blades gradually and the grass will seem to 'toughen up' and produce more leaves at the base of the plant which will give you a thicker, healthier lawn.
