Is there one thing or more that you have bought to use in or outside the home that's been a complete disappointment. What was it?

I bought a blow up doll but it kept going down on me. Good job the shop assistant didn't know it could do that or he would have charged me more:-)

Egg poacher pockets from Lakeland.
Does the “professional” gardener I employed to care for my UK garden when I moved to Ireland count?
Mind you, my security cameras were useful. :-)
A Chinese-made gadget that was supposed to neatly remove the end of a boiled egg, without the need to hit the shell with a spoon. We couldn't get it work, so we now smash the shell with a spoon.

I would think there's a professional gardener and a tidy upper?
I tried the silicone egg poacher pockets as well. They were given to me. They went straight in the bin.
I didn't want a tidy upper so I employed a professional gardener. I'm sure he was fine when the householder was home but when he thought he wasn't being watched he took the opportunity to fiddle work done and time spent. My camera could watch him so he didn't last.
I had told him about the cameras when he first visited....his fault he forgot.

The market does seem to be flooded with gadgets. My husband fitted a new sink in the kitchen just over 2 years ago and its already rusting. I didn't think stainless steel rusted?

Not very professional then gness. If he had have been gardening is the one occupation that he or she could have looked busy without really doing anything.
sandra4444...why have you ended your name in 4444?'
Sandra. His qualifications and the references were good. He just didn't live up to them...well not to my standards by a long way.
When I questioned him he played the cancer card and accused me of not caring about him...he went nonetheless and I found a fantastic man....for the garden that is.. ;-)
I still have a Jamie Oliver flavour shaker rattling around in my cupboard. What a fool I was to buy this!

Just kidding

I agree with the egg poachers
No substitute for boiling water with a splash of white vinegar and sprinkle of salt
one of those "defrosts things quicker" trays. It doesn't.
A garden tool that was supposed to remove weeds from between paving slabs without having to bend down. It didn’t work.
Roy, I miss Mikey4444…oops wrong thread :0))
I use the egg poachers all the time. I have a bread maker in the back of the cupboard. Gave my George Foreman grill to my son for use at work. Sandwich maker also at the back of the cupboard as it is a pain to clean!
Most kitchen gadgets, like the juicer, the sandwich toaster, and things that are difficult to clean. The most useless thing was a combined washing machine/tumbler dryer about 20 years ago.
Our bread maker is the one thing we use regularly. Well OH does!
i used to like my washer/dryer. theres something v nice about switching that and the dishy on and returning to clean dry clothes and dishes
How different we are. Loved my bread maker til Dave took over the bread making...he's a whizz with soda bread.
Sandwich maker in weekly use. Often with Aldi buns rather than bread...with the right fillings they're a treat.
