I wear predominately black clothes (at a push grey), mostly t-shirts with ordinary jeans or black jeans and have done since I met himself over 30 years ago. One of my gifts today from himself/the kids is a green and white striped ‘blouse’ thing to go over a white t-shirt (from M & S - it just gets worse, it looks like a Pacer wrapping). I’m not being ungrateful - but what was he thinking? I know I’m knocking on a bit but it’s bloody hideous. I now have to hatch a plan to get out of wearing it (seriously, it’s awful) - I thought it was pj’s when I opened it.
Crikey, that’s a bit of a dramatic reaction, sherr. Maybe he’s just done that typically bloke thing of ignoring what you’ve worn for the past 20 years.
wash the blouse, hang it on washing line and accidentally get the wire bits of the pegs tangled in it and un-untangling caused holes which makes the blouse unwearable.
I think M&S things are easy to return - but honestly have looked at what I think it is and it's really not that bad, just an innocuous mint and white striped shirt. You could dye it?
I’m just really surprised at his choice, usually he just gets something plain and dark. Comfy, casual stuff. It’s the colour (might not be so bad if it’s wasnt stripey) and fussy little tie things to roll up the sleeves. It’s just a bit twee (for me). I know I’m knocking on but I’m hardly ready for a blue rinse.
Do what I do if I'm bought something I don't like ( ie Christmas, Birthday etc ) just don't wear it. Put it in the wardrobe or draw and forget about it.
Eldest has just got in and I asked him to have a look at the shirt. He called it a ‘bold choice’ and told me not to wear it - I feel better now. I just feel bad that I’m not going to wear it but not actually bad enough to wear it.
