Paling Redcurrant bush leaves

In the spring I planted a blackcurrent bush and a redcurrant bush about 2 yards apart.  The blackcurrant bush is thriving & bore  fruit.  The redcurrant bush bore no fruit and the leaves have turned to a very pale green and look very sickly. .  What has gone wrong?  I mixed mature stable manure in both holes before planting.
