Thames Water is spending thousands on leaflets outlining the hose pipe ban for domestic use but no mention is made regarding public spaces particularly parks amd green verges which may be seen on television during the Olympic Games.
For example, here near the front of Hampton Court , they are already preparing and watering the verges etc, even though the Olympic cyclists will pass by in a matter of minutes.
How many viewers will be interested in the state of the grass?

We're very lucky that in Brighton, we have two underground rivers that pass through the city. We will be able to water all summer without using mains water
All I can tell you is that the parks in London (whenever there is a hosepipe ban) are just left to fend for themselves. And get very brown and dry..Whether it will be the same this year with the Olympics on - who knows?
