but I am getting a new pc with wireless internet(woo hoo lucky me!),how do I stop people from using my signal,as in sometimes, when it is getting used by them, someone in my house can use my neighbours on a playstation portable, enabling them to download stuff, surf etc.
As this has come to my attention, how do I stop anyone but my pc from accessing my signal?
Obviously I am going to bring it to my neighbours attention.......soon :)
Thanks for any advice for a tech-challenged person!

I dont understand though, how the person in my house is able to access the neighbours internet though,I thought these things where secure so to speak.I am just very surprised so want to understand it so it doesent happen with me.Surly this affects their download limit(if they have one)?Confused!@?!?!
It's 3G, not G3

you are getting mobile broadband, not wireless.

with wireless broadband the broadband is brought into the house via a normal telephone line that is connected to a wireless router, your laptop then connects to that router using wireless. this is the setup your neighbour will have, as they have not got security on the network anyone can connect to it and use their internet.

Mobile broadband uses a small USB dongle that plugs into your computer and receives the internet using the mobile phone network. using this method of getting a internet connection means that only the computer the dongle is physically plugged into can use the connection, there is no way anyone else can use it,
