extractor fan

i have removed a timed extractor fan and have a basic fan to fit. can i wire the permanent live and the live 1 together into the fan live connector?

Only if you want the fan to run all the time. Isolate the permanent live and run the fan off the switched live..

(Switched Live referred to above is what you called 'live 1')
