My Nieghbour has disconneted an exterior sensor controlled lantern. He took the 4 wires out of the block connected to the light when he bought it He wrote the connections down then lost the piece of paper.Does anyone know which wires go where and the mains from the house go into this joining block.

Assuming its like ours, there should be a blue lead ,twinned with a white, which connects to the mains neutral .An earth connection, green or green/yellow striped.Mains live should go to a brown wire. The fourth one,not used for mains connection is usually an internal black wire
