What is the correct product to use as filler between traditional old floorboards pls?

I have quite large gaps in a very old floor with the original floorboards- what is the best product to use to fill them pls? Many thanks

The traditional method was to use papier mache. But if you enter 'foolboards gaps' into Google search, there are tons of links on the subject. Take your pick.

Hi,
If you have wide gaps you will need to fill them with strips of wood. Any other filler would fall out in time, as the boards change in size depending on season (humidity, temperature etc). I had a look at this website http://www.sandedfloors.co.uk/gap%20film.info. htm.
