My 21 year old immersion timer switch has just died and I would like to replace it with one that does the same job. Thing is, it wasn't a programmable timer where you set the time it comes on each day. It was one where you put the immersion on for a certain amount of time as and when you needed it and it then switched itself off. Does anyone know if I can still get one like that?

Put a sesarch into Google for Immersion heater timers and it should have what you are after.

Tried that - no joy! (At least, not without trolling through more than 15 pages or so!)
Try an electrical wholesaler , they do all the bits for the trade .
They are on all the industrial estates , so worth a visit .
Try ebay, you will need to specify the size of your copper tank (ask seller a question). In order to establish what size element you need to buy. The size of the tank should be on a label on the tank itself - or if not measure the diameter and height yourself and let the seller know if the immersion is side or top mounted in the tank.

Sorry might be a bit late to give this answer horstman manufacture a override timer that if you press the button once brings immersion on for half hour, twice an hour three times two hours
