where to find title deeds for land

where would a person look for title deeds (or copies of) or information for unregstered land.as i have tried for a year to find the papers for my late fathers estate, i do however know that 14 acres of land are involved.and i belive i know the area where the land is located , but as its no registered i am at a loss

any one have any tips on this

Try the local records office-depends how old the documents are I guess, but if it's uregistered and you've been through all his things, it's the only place I can think of. Parishes often use a central records office to look after their records and particulars of sale etc of land in the parish might be included.
