I have bought a rather nice writing slope on ebay, however the lock doesn't work at all. Its quite easy to remove though and in fact I suspect that its not the original one anyway. I've hunted around but the only supplier of replacements I could find is in america and the p and p is huge.

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of writing slope (wooden box) locks please? Either new or old but they must work and come with a key.

Afternoon, here I is. It's cold, grey and damp and doesn't my body know it, terrible backache. Hope your cold isn't the stinker I had Jude, stay in and keep warm.
Hope it went well yesterday shaney and you're ok.
Hello all
It's a lovely sunny day here .Sorry it's not so nice up your way Robinia.
It was a lovely day yesterday as well until we left for the church and then the heavens opened but as we came out to go to the crem it stopped and there was a lovely rainbow. It went as well as these sad occasions do I suppose.
Hope your all Ok though .Look after yourself Jude ,you don't want another dose.
t want a nother dose .
Funerals are always difficult but a little sunshine always helps. Not a glimmer here shaney, it's a grim November day, washing on the rack, window cleaners came but you can't tell now in the gloom....I need some grey Thursday bargains (haven't found any).... I never know what to buy my sister.
Glimmering almost blinding sunshine here and says 19° but still v cold.
I hate funerals in the grey damp, just seems so wrong all doom and gloom.
When sis was here she fancied a hippie outfit in a shop window so I bought it for her for Xmas and together we chose some really cuddly warm. Pj's for other sis, slippers for Bro. I can't do all the nieces and nephews. Sis took all gifts and cads back but I've just send two sister's little gifts from hija. They cost £6 each to post. Ridiculous!

good morning all, hope you are all well? Just a quick whizz in as we are going here and there as this is only a short visit from Sis with a lot of laughing to pack in.
Morning all. Lively sunny day. Hate my hair I feel ridiculous but nothing I can do until it grows a bit, and it will soon!
Woody? Lots of laughter to be packed in. How lovely. Wish my sis was here

Neighbour has told me that we can finally be connected to the mains sewer soon but I think Mr N has to dig up the whole lane. Poor buffer.
I am a wally. I've had this phone since Sept and thought it strange that all the piccies were slightly not clear. Today I found a protective film over it, removed it and hey go brilliant. D'oh
Black Friday is about right, all it needs is to be the 13th! One of my kitchen cupboard doors has fallen off and my drainpipe is blocked so washing machine flowing out over the side patio which is fine as long as it's not sewerage from the. Cesspit!
And now I have scalded my arm with hot fat a huge circle non my arm. Painful.
BEWARE BLACK FRIDAY!!!
It's black mood Friday! Yet again this stupid site closed and lost my post.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........
Oh dear Neti ,it sounds more like **** up Friday.
It was very quiet all round though according to the news. I think people remember last years fiasco and steered clear or shopped on line .I did grab a bargain on line though .An animal print kimono jacket reduced to half price.I peeped through my fingers and scrolled past the handbags :)
It's been a miserable day here,to match my mood ,raining and blowing a gale out there atm.
Hope you're all as well as.Night all.

morning...let's see how long I last today. I couldn't get an internet connection at all last night, I might have known it was those handbag grabbers clogging up the wires :)

It Wasn't a good day here either. Started off in a grumpy mood but tried to keep busy. Suddenly about lunchtime my already sore eye got very uncomfortable and red under the lower lid so I dragged myself off to the chemist....waited about 12 minutes to get served. Gawd those pharmacists are as bad as dr's receptionists but I finally came away with some chloramphenicol ointment, they didn't have drops. Then at tea time I got what looks like an allergy rash on my face....maybe the 2 are connected. Luckily I've always got a-h's in the house. Anyway after much panic things have improved this morning. Hope I've got both things under control.

We're on a weather warning for high winds and rain, oh joy. Tis the season to be peed orf.
Hope you're all toddling along ok and coping with your ailments and sadness. Keep taking the tablets....or gin :)
morning all, well, it was mighty cold in Rome, the official temp yesterday was 12 but one of those signs outside a chemist said 6 and that felt about right; there was a bitter wind along the Tiber. So I'd go out prepared to meet Eskimos and then suddenly the sun would come out and I'd be having to rip layers off and put them in my bag. Anyway, we went round the forum and saw the spot where Caesar was cremated, visited several thousand churches, didn't bother queuing up with thousands of Japaense to put our hands in the Mouth of Truth, and visited some fab museums. OH had gone completely native by the end of it and was jumping queues and sneaking on to buses without paying. Lots of pasta and some gelati, but we finished with a steak at the T-Bone restaurant on Via Francesco Crispi, brother of the more famous Rice.

The hotel bed was terrible hard, though, and my hip is still aching. I asked if they had any soft mattresses and they just gave me a couple of bath towels to put on it, which didn't help much and anyway the chambermaid took them away again the next day. I think in future I will have to ask for hotels with soft beds and be prepared to pay extra :-(
Hello jno
My friend''s horse is racing at Newbury in minute so am stuck in front of the TV. Don't like horse racing but must show willing. I'll be questioned on it later.
Yes jno Rome gets very cold in winter and very hot in Summer
Fingers crossed am having a better day. Washing machine waste still running riot over the side patio bit at least I've done 4 loads and all dried and packed away. Ivr bunged a lor of caustic soda and hot watwr fown the pipes!!
Just cleaned cooked and deep cleaned bathroom, all for the cat sitter.
Big scald mark on arm but no pain.
Ciao jno....sounds like you had a lovely busy time. Shame about the bed, I can't sleep in a strange bed anymore. Taking my own might be a bit of a problem.
Anyway, where are they....the leather handbags? In the post? Or are you saving them for the brantub? I think I might need one to put over my head until these problems clear up.
The wild weather arrived.
He's only gone and won the race. His name is Grey Gold. I think he was whipped too much and have told my friend but what do I know.
All snuggled up in the warm front room again. Looking forward to our mini hols. What's the betting it'll be rough as he'll and I'll be terrified. I hate boats ships ferries, deep water in general . Cba to cook( my hols have already started) so we bought a delicious tuna pie
Sounds awful but is truly delectable.
Hooe you are all OK.
I am.up to my ears in handbags. Can't decide which on to take with me. There are tan one with and without tassels, black ones different sizes, my favourite grey tasselled Primark one which is falling apart, and a red shiny big one!
go with the Primark one, you know everyone will be admiring it
Hello all
Still up ,can't get to sleep
Ben tornato Jno .Sounds like an interesting break .I had to laugh at your OH sneaking on the bus ,as they say ..when in Rome ...
Hope you're all ok .Are you off on your grand tour any minute now Neti ,have a lovely time .
Lol Robinia ,I didn't grab any handbags.Like Neti .I'm swimming in handbags. Hope your eye has settled down.
My brother came round this afternoon and brought his ironing .Poor old lad is totally lost. He's alright with cooking etc but hasn't a clue about ironing ,bless him.He said he wishes the kids would leave him in peace. They mean well but are constantly there or on the phone asking if he's eaten and has he taken his meds.Very difficult.I just sit and listen and make tea.
The miserable weather doesn't help .It's been raining and blowing a gale here all day .
Night all ,sleep tight .
