I usually don't have much trouble sorting out the answer to these, but am stuck with today's. "This town changed hands between two colonial powers at least 9 times before independence. Visitors are charmed by its cobbled streets and histroical buildings such as the lighthouse from where you can strain to see the capital of another country. Locals are never without a cup of mate.
Does anyone kn ow where it is? It seems to be somewhere in South America - somewhere in Argentina?

is it asuncion capital of paraguay?
I doubt if there are any lighthouses in Paraguay
colonia del sacramento - has cobbled streets a lighthouse and you can see Buenos Aires
Forgot to say it is in Uruguay
