day does not come from dies, latin for day!

my exciting etymological dictionarysays:

dhegh - to burn, sanskrit 'dah' to burn, 'ni-dagha' hot season,

day is the hot bright time as opposed to night -in no way related to latin dies day..

It's only Monday and I feel slightly more knowledgeable than I did on Sunday.

Friday = Beer! Maybe beer in latin should have been used to name a day of the week.....??? Just a thought!! :-)
