Our Electrolux refrigerator, just over 50 years old is slowly failing and will have to be replaced. It must be a bit of history, is there any organisation which would welcome it for inclusion in a history exhibition? If not it will have to go to the tip for safe disposal but it is a shame for the casing to disappear for ever.

Do you have any buildings museums near you? Depends where you are I guess but can think of a couple of places in Central England who might be interested........ or perhaps you should contact Electrolux??

Thanks Echokilo we live in North Shropshire. I had tried Ironbridge but could not get a reply. I will now try Black Country museum. I have E-Mailed Electrolux, no reply so far. I would be glad of any other addresses if you can help. Coalgirl
Here is an address I have found for Electrolux:

Company
Electrolux Major Appliances a division of Electrolux plc

Address
Addington Way, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU4 9QQ

Phone
08705 950 950

And the Black Country Museum is:
BLACK COUNTRY LIVING MUSEUM
Tipton Road
Dudley , DY1 4SQ

And you could also try Avoncroft Museum of Buildings on 01527 831363 or 01527 831886 and although miles away, you could try:
The Museum of Electricity
The Old Power Station, Bargates, Christchurch, Dorset BH23 1QE
Tel: 01202 480467

Let me know if you find somewhere for it ...... I know there is another "living" museum up north called Beamish, but have not given the details as it's a long way from you but might be worth a try if all else fails.

I tried the museums in Shropshire and Black Country. No reply from either, so my daughter in law took it as a furniture curio! Thanks Echokilo for your interest. Coalgirl
