A vehicle pulled out of a side street onto the main road of which I was driving. I was doing the legal speed limit but had to swerve to avoid this vehicle and hit it.

Didn't do a very good job of swerving then did you? LOL

sorry
had exactly the same today ,someone came out of a side street like a bat out of hell ,as if i rule the road, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr,i have a name for them guess what?
If you were on the main road and they came out of a side road then they were definitely in the wrong.

Give em' hell.
This happens to me so many times while driving around and, I have to say, it is young drivers and mums with their kids while they pick them up from school.
Yep. The other driver is at fault for not checking the road was clear before pulling out.
Was it actually safe to be doing the legal limit? It isn't always you know.

In general it would be the other driver's fault, but there are circumstances where it might not be. If you drove into the rear of him you might have a battle on your hands, for example.
So? you have given a statement to us, what is your Question?
i'd of drove right at them!!!
Is your user name relevant?
