does anyone know which ancient people made and wielded the double-edged broadsword which is also known as the claymore?

Claidheamh.... Claymore sword Scots Gaelic....so the Gaels perhaps ?

Claymore scoch whiskey is named after the sword,
If you visit the new scottish museum in Edinburgh you will find claymores and they are described as being first made and used by the Scottish ppl

Scotch is WHISKY.
As far as I know a claymore is a basket hilt sword & only had the one edge. Used to good effect in the Great Highland Charge but not much use against a volley of musketry.
