much mention is made of edward longshanks being 6ft 4ins tall (tallest uk monarch?) -but what about edward 2 and 3rd surely they inherited longshanks height?

Tallest English king usually reckoned to be Edward IV - (skeleton measured in 18th cent. at c.6' 3") - Longshanks presumably never verified. Interestingly, shortest (adult) king is supposed to have been Charles II, even before he was shortened even more...
Both Edward II and III were over 6ft tall according to contemporary sources, so they were well above average height for the period.

BTW, Mike b, I think you mean CharlesI, it was he who was brutally foreshortened.
