Spam On Whatsapp?

I was just checking my phone and see I've got 137 messages...and counting...from something called 11BTC 13 sec futures 29...with, below that, [phone].
As i send this it's now over 140.
I've not opened this conversation...how do I block it? Can I?

With the conversation in view click the three dots, top right.

In the drop down menu click 'more'

'block' should be an option

There is also an option for 'report'

That is spam for bitcoin.
I don't use Whatsapp but does this help?

I can now see its a conversation between several/many different numbers.

I think I've gotten rid of it...it was over 180 messages.

If you open whatsapp, does it show in 'Chats'?

Yes...I got rid of it in the end by following the instructions in Barry's link.

Tap More options > More > Report.
Check the box if you would like to also block the user and delete messages in the chat.

It's possible a contact of yours was sent a spam message asking them to reply when they did the friends contacts were used by a spammer and messages are now being sent to all their contacts. WhatsApp were very helpful when this happened to my nephew.

When I looked at it, it was a proper conversation between Lord knows how many numbers with quite a few having dropped out.
