should i mention the war, which one, we have had endless ones, with Scotland, France, Germany, Spain, you name it, the ones with Scotland were eventually resolved, let's see if independence comes to those who wait, but don't hold your breath.
Morning pal.x
I think my ancestors were late to that battle. It is something I have continued!

baza - and a special 'good morning' to you :-)
Gavmacp - are you from Fife? :-)
No Edinburgh.
Oops I think I am getting the wrong battle! It did make me laugh when as a kid I was told how my ancestors were a day late to a battle. I remember thinking that would be mum then!
I've been to Gretna Green, Ayr and Edinburgh.
As I crossed the border I sung:- 'There'll always be an England.' :-)
i wonder how big a saw we will need to annexe you, ha
Remind us, please. When is the anniversary of the Battle of Flodden?

Gavmacp - Your post reminded me of the village of Ceres in Fife where there is a plaque in commemoration of the villagers returning from Bannockburn. The fact is that they intended to fight but arrived after the battle was over. Canny folk, the Fifers :-)
Right, lads, September the 9th it is then.
more battles raged between lowland Scots and Highland Scots than anyone.
Who did Robert the Bruce kill to keep power, from recollection one of his clan
Fred, get your flintlocks at the ready, pike and drums, here we go, here we go.
For goodness sake em. They only won one out of hundreds. Let them have a little strut. ;)
nope, this is not going to happen....
by the way i love the Scots, the most nationalist people on the planet, also some of the friendliest, and most welcoming i have come across. The arguments with Scottish friends raged long and hard.

FredPuli43 - Flodden 1513 - The referee and linesmen were Russian, just like in 1966 when you 'beat' the Germans at Wembley :-)

em10 - Every single English person I have met has been lovely, it's when two or more of them get together that things seem to go wrong :-)

Svejk - I'd like to say something witty to you but I can't pronounce your name :-)

cupid pal - That's the last X you get fae me!! (jist kiddin') :-)
