Well, if you're talking the real life explanation for mermaids, which is commonly believed to be sealions, then yes, they do. If you're talking the mythical ones, since the bottom half is that of a fish, perhaps its reasonable to assume they would have a "cloaca" which is a combined genital/ backside type arrangement...

Can't believe I'm answering this.. ;-)

What a great question :) this is the sort of thing that keeps me awake at night

The one in Copenhagen does. She's sitting quite politely upon it in the customary manner of humans!

Daryl Hannah did in Splash, by all accounts she still has it

Well what a coincidence, on June 2 2005 the DT had a short piece about the operation on a mermaid.

Their incidence is about one in a million to ten million births - I seem to recollect from a review I read in 1982. X ray may reveal only one femur, but clearly the one this year in Peru had fused legs.....[so had two]

With a single central femur the pelvic anatomy is gonna be very disturbed, and I notice someone has mentioned a cloaca (fused front and back passages)

So I can sum this up as mermaids have tushes but tiny ones, I suppose.....

No they dont
