I very much enjoy websites where you can view/purchase historical photographs of places e.g. francisfrith.com and history-in-pictures.co.uk
Does anyone know of any other similar sites? Many thanks.

I think that if you go to a local town library website like York you can look at old photo of that town .

Like Dustypuss says, most places with a library service, local studies service, archives service or similar have some kind of website that you can pick and order photos from.
bear in mind though that these are a mere fraction of their holdings! Nothing beats going in and doing real research.
