If you have seen the moive The Crow, thant you know the story and you know this, People once believed that

when someone dies a crow

carries their soul to the land

of the dead. But sometimes,

something so bad happens

that a terrible sadness is

carried with it and the soul

can't rest. Then sometimes,

just sometimes, a crow can

bring that soul back to put

the wrong things right...

I do believe that the quote from the film is purely made up for the purpose of the film.

However, crows are considered an ill omen.  Many believe crows flying or resting on a house signifies a death in the family.

I'm not going to report this question because that would be petty, but ABE, if you spot this one, please could you reformat it a bit so it doesn't take up the whole page!?  It's an interesting question, but it's not fair that it dominates like so.

Sorry Wade_Atkins - I really don't want to report you (so I won't) - especially as there's a chance you didn't deliberately format it so.  I'd be grateful therefore if you didn't get mad at me.  I just find the "me me me" formatting a bit OTT.

http://www.thecrowsloft.com/novels/filmstory.html - apparently there's a book that might give you some answers.  Perhaps a search at a library for movie books might help.  I've searched a few sites, and nothing has really come up.  Good luck finding an answer though! :-)

acw - you spent the best part of half a page smacking Wade's wrists.  Very petty I must say.

The crow or raven mythology is probably of native american origin, although Europeans also have history of crows or ravens representing the other world.  More here:

I agree with Octavius acw,

you must have been having a

shocking day on Saturday to be so wound up!

Sorry Wade

yes people did belive that

matty

i find the mystery behind the film more bizzare,

brandon lee son of bruce lee died during the filming of it when a scene where he is shot dead by the bad guys ended up with him being shot for real and died hours later in hospital. fortunately this was one of only 4 scenes still to be filmed and they were able to finish filming using a stunt double with his face digitally enhanced of the double

Actually, it's a really old Celtic belief. It was believed that the Goddess Morrigan (pronounced Morrigawn) brought the souls of the dead -especially warriors slain in battle - to the summerlands whilst disguised as a crow. This probably came from what happens when you leave corpses to rot in the open after a battle...
