Surely Britain's most uneven and badly maintained pavements must be in Northampton. Does anyone know otherwise?

Did you fall over DSJ?
There are some in Oxford which have put people in hospital, to my certain knowledge.

Actually no but I always have to mind where and how I walk when I am there.
Pretty bad here in mum's wee village !
Not sure about the pavements, DSJ....but you're probably correct because we have the most awful road surfaces in Northants.....takes visitors ages to stop shaking when they come to see me....x
Well, not having compared each Town to check I can't disagree with you.
You haven't seen the surface of our road, then - it's giving even patchwork a bad name :-(
We dont have much in the way of pavements around here, modern fandagled things!!
"takes visitors ages to stop shaking when they come to see me" ... and longer after they leave?

:+)
Awful here. Still have the fat lip and bruised knees to prove it.
Feeling any better today, Daisy ?.
Not too bad round here but after a trip to Romania I definitely redefined my notion of a bad road. The street I stayed on for a while was so bad they said it was easier to drive part on the pavement (not me driving) while also dodging a variety of chickens, ducks, donkeys etc...
In town we have newish pavements/roads and people are always falling over (it's pedestrianised during most of the day) - they are the same colour as each other and the kerbs taper to meet the road at odd intervals.
Coventry
Stick to Abington...our pavements are sound :-)
