Did you read that Prince William and Kate share a common ancestry -they are like 12th first cousins removed.
Whats the chances of that ?
Given they met off chance in St. Andrews.
She didnt appear to be from his 'stock' either.
How often would that occur in an off the cuff meeting do you reckon?

Aren't we all related to one another if you go back far enough?

I dont know carole TBH.
Thats the reason I posted it in this topic to find out if it was quite a co-incedence or fairly common.
Hi Dris, look up 6 degrees of seperation. It's quite interesting.
I've no idea Dris. The first ex's second wife is related to Zara Phillips, and she's quite common.......
I think someone did research into this and if you go back so far, we all have a common ancestor. When you look at some people though, it could be very worrying!!!
Question Author
Guess that would be true.My mother has just finished a labour of love which took her 15yrs but I dont have anyone to compare it to but I daresay one of the branches could lead to someone on here.
milly -the 6 degrees of seperation is very very clever isnt it-have to be pretty clued up for it though (im not lol)
Craft -that was pretty magnanomous of you blimey !.Thats a very good connection to have made -the best Mum got back to was a farmer who owned his own land -dont think any of the family ever left a farm :)

I'm first cousin 4 times removed from the daughter of Captain Smith of The Titanic.

Not sure how they've managed to get to a 1st cousin 12 times removed, most of her ancestors were labourers ot trademen:

but maybe they've done some guess work on it lol

I read that Dot -was chuffed to bits for you as I know its a passion for you (like it is for my Mum and others). We're nothin fancy on Mums side.Dads side (Irish) is very intriquing as there has been name changes and other types of subterfuge which has made it almost impossible......jailbirds,Catholic Priests,Spanish connection....
I'll get the link brb -I know its trivial but I thought it was very coincedental to be honest......
