My lovely doctor has brought me luck in filling benefit forms to my gain. I believe he likes red wine - I know nothing about red wine - anybody fill me in on a real good red wine - up to about £10.00. thanks
doc spock - believe me I have worked for 40 years in the Civil Service and am just getting my dues. I would buy you a bottle of red wine if I knew where you lived. ta ra
Is a doctor allowed to accept a gift in those circumstances? I don't know but it somehow doesn't feel right to me (although I can understand your gratitude to the doc).
Sorry to be unable to help with a recommendation for a good red wine .... but if he's anything like my hubby ..... he'll sup owt. [:o)
I don't understand how a doctor can fill in a benefit form for you, they would normally charge £25 for signing a passport form!!!!! Filling a form in would run into 100s of pounds.
Just to add, Connemmara, you might embarrass him by buying him a gift, as he may well feel that he was just doing his job. Of course, he might be chuffed to bits with a bottle (just throwing in some possibilities here).
Ezra have you ever asked your GP to sign a medical form for a private health care claim? or to sign a passport application form? Trust me, they can and do charge.
They can charge for non-GMS services - such as letters for airline (seats/medication etc), reports for insurances, certificates such as shotgun, passport, driving license, seat belt exemption. Letters to state a patient is fit to particupate in sport/travel etc - loads of things. Charges can be discretionary, but the recommended fees can vary from around £10 up to £100+ depending on the service.
I called in at Tescos last night and they had some Rioja on offer at half price (about a fiver, I think). I bought a couple of bottles for my hubby, along with four other bottles of a different kind.
If you buy six bottles, you get a small discount (about five per cent).
I've never had any personal experience of this, but I believe that if you put in a claim for certain benefits, your doctor can be approached by the DSS (is it still called that?) to supply information to confirm your illness/disability.
Perhaps that's what has happened in the poster's case.
this is for Sallabananas - bought the Chateauneuf du Pepe - got it in Asda - on offer for £10 exactly reduced from £13. Yes to all the posters it was a form that the doctor had to fill in himself so the powers that be/authorities know everything - I have appreciated this. Bye for now everybody
I think what Conne means is her GP was sent a form to complete by the benefits agency, as they do in all cases. She did'nt mean her GP was helping her fill in her own part of the form folks.
