I have a Ministry of Health card from 1943 with a reference number for my late grandmother. Is there any way to obtain her details from this? I am particularly looking for her birth.
At the time, The Ministry of Health was in Blackpool

This is probably her ID card I think, National Health numbers were not issued until 1948.
What details does it give? was it perhaps her vaccination card?
Have you any details of her life from your parents. i.e. Full name, approx age. Where she may have lived at any time during the 1841-51-61-71-81-91 census. I am sure some one on this site would be able to help you if you gave further details

There is an 8 figure number; Her married name, her address at the time and the address Ministry of Health, Insurance Dept, Blackpool Lancs. The reverse says 'The controller acknowleges the receipt of your application which is receiving attention' , so it is not an identity card, just a receipt with a reference number that needed to be quoted in correspondence. (There is more about notifying a change of address.)
This is not the question though. I want to know if it is possible to trace her details from this reference number as we are trying to trace her birth.
As for Ironmonger's reply, this is a six year search so far. We have all census relevant details (1891, 1901, after that she was in India) and an approximate birthdate, but not birth record, though we do have marriage certificate, and plenty of other family details. Several forums have tossed the question back and forth, but this Ministry of Heath card and ref number are a new find, therefore a new avenue I wanted to explore.
ok for some reason the last bit it not working, you could either add the last bit into the address, or type Ministry of Health into the simple search box. the lancashire record office in preston seem to have alot of their records
