Land lord keeps demanding money

My freeholder keeps demanding money off me recenetly I paid him 2 lots of �500 in space of 6 months, I have asked him to provide me with the list of things he has done with the money but so far nothing. recently he said my bathroom leeked in to his cellor ( I did'nt know he had a cellor) he said I have to give him �2000 for the repair to the ceiling. I have had plumbers come in and repair the tiles and ceilent in the bathroom at cost of 100 's of pounds. I don,t have the 2000 pound what shall i do?j

If you are renting property from a landlord then any repairs are for him to make and pay for. Don't pay.

Go to Citizen's Advice Bureau & ask for advice.

do you have buildings insurance? If so this type of thing would be covered

Please please don't pay any more money and do take Frog's advice about the CAB.

You obviously don't know too much about responsibilities of a landlord and you're obviously being taken for a bit of a ride because of this. What scares me is that these landlords often prey on vulnerable adults who wouldn't think to seek advice. So, even if you don't make a stand for yourself, do it for any future tenant of this underhand landlord.
