Geepers Dot. What alot of info... where'd you find that all?

I now know wh to ask if i want to find out about any family frm lng ago.

not got him in 1871 but in 1861 when he would have been 7, there is a family living in blackburn with a son john aged 7 but he was actually born in preston, his father James Travis was born in LEYLAND, and his mum margaret was born Preston . interestingly, a james travis married a margaret whiteside at preston st john 23 dec 1860, i wondered if james had been married twice. maybe his first wife was a higham
used to tutor in the subject a decade or more ago eve!!! now it is all on line i can use the sources from the comfort of my front room lol
i think elizabeth his daughter must have been 20 in 1901 not 28,the original writing must have looked like an 8 when i read it.

to my knowledge he only had 1 child which was a son! can i ask where you got the info from....id love to have a look!
Hi
From the census returns as written above, if you have subscribed to either ancestry.co.uk ot findmypast.com you could check for yourself, or if you can get into the local reference library that covers that area.
He had several children as you can see. What was the name of the son you are aware of? John William Travis seems to have been the only son recorded on each census. There may well have been a son born between returns that was never recorded on the census, possibly there was a child after edith, if you have a fiorst name i can check the GRO index for birth and death.
