This 28 yr old woman calls on people to break the law in an interview this morning, she appears to be very brainwashed, yes we have climate change but their message is more to do with anarchy, cult status

19 February 1913: Suffragettes bomb Chancellor David Lloyd George's house, with two bombs being planted by Emily Davison. Only one bomb functions but significant damage is done to the building, although there are no injuries.
22 February 1913: A postman is burned at Lewisham post office, South London, when handling a suffragette letter bomb.
3 April 1913: A bomb explodes next to a train line in Stockport, on the outskirts of Manchester, while a passenger train is passing. The explosion nearly kills the driver when his head is grazed by flying debris.

I don’t believe in hurting people to get a point across , yes I’m pleased we got the vote I’m not denying that , but this Just stop Oil people are totally brainwashed, From what your post indicates, they appear to be modelling themselves on the Suffragette movement but London is a much more busy metropolis than it was back then
MAABOF, obviously totally ignorant of the subject she purports to pursue. I'd have more respect for these idiots if they targetted those that could actually make a difference. If the UK achieved zero emissions, actual zero not "net" zero, it would make absolutely no difference to the world, none, zilch, nitto, nothing, diddly squat. Why are they so dim they cannot see that? Now if they want to make a difference target the big emmitters, USA, China, India, etc.
This young woman puts forward the logic of her organisation - that because they don't think the democratically elected government is doing as they think it should, they believe that massive civil unrest will cause a mass uprising, and force the government to act in the way that Stop Oil thinks it should.
Mark Austin's perfectly reasonable point, was that the disruption utterly eclipses the message and aim, and simply alienates the people Stop Oil want support from.
The lady interviewed singularly failed to address that simple question, preferring instead to offer ever more pointless hysterical and irrelevant questions and comparisons in order to avoid answering the question put to her.
As an older person, I get seriously hacked off when people young enough to be my grandchildren pop up and accuse my generation of not caring about their future, and simply going its own sweet way, not understanding the wonderful truth that can only actually be grasped if you have the magic requisite - being under thirty years of age.
This young lady's tenuous grasp on simple reality, and the support of her lunatic fringe cohorts, merely underlines the attitude of naive young people who believe that they have magic simple solutions to age-old seriously complex issues.
They don't, and she as a perfect example of why not - a triumph of naive simplistic thinking overcoming any remote ability to look at a bigger complex picture.

She will have the warm glow of attention and affirmation - so for her, job done.

Got about two fifths of the way through before getting too bored to continue. She clearly answered the question. It was that she didn't know what else to do. Ok then give her a few suggestions. Maybe she could write to her MP. Or perhaps go on an organised official march or two. Better still, take a boat to China and protest there where the main problem is.
The trouble with single minded thinking is that it comes up with what initially seem to be apparently helpful demands but fails to think things through and realise the huge mess it would inevitably cause. Get rid of oil & gas energy and watch thousands freeze to death over the winter ? We're in a bad enough energy position as it is without someone determined to make things worse.
