1871 census Toxteth Park aged 29 wife of George Fletcher , he was born Belchford Lincolnshire and she is down as born Tarlton Westmoreland, it does look like Tarlton but I cannot find it on any new or old maps. Living with them is Ann Thompson aged 10, niece born Barbon Westmoreland, I've found that easily enough, but does anyone know of a Tarlton up that way? (there's one here in west lancs but that's not it)

I found a Tarlton in Gloucestershire.

yes I found that too, but with her neice being enumerated with them and giving her birth was barbon it must be a village somewhere in westmoreland. it certainly reads as Tarlton , can't really fault the transcription, the primary may be an error i guess
